This is a video we put together for Elmer, NJ’s water system. The video includes some drone footage of the elevated tank and the well houses.
This video was done as part of a separate promotional video that can be found on our YouTube channel, so please subscribe to get the latest updates.
A Brief Overview of the Elmer Water System
Elmer’s system serves a population of 1,400 and consists of two wells, disinfection, and the elevated tank. It is classified as a T-1 water treatment system, due to the source water’s high quality. It is also a W-1 water distribution system because of the small population.
The wells are approximately 500′ deep, located in the underground source known as the Mount Laurel-Wenonah Aquifer. Disinfection is handled via calcium hypochlorite chlorination tablets. This system is very effective for the system size, is easy to maintain, and is a cost-effective option.
The elevated storage tank featured in the video has a capacity of 200,000 gallons. It helps improve water pressure, maintain volume for fire fighting activities, and provides an additional buffer in the event of a water emergency. The elevated tank is scheduled to be repainted in 2017.
The distribution system consists of eight linear miles of water distribution mains, ninety fire hydrants, and five hundred forty service connections. The distribution system is flushed twice a year in accordance with best practices to ensure the highest quality of water is delivered to their customers.
The video
The video captures the beauty of Elmer and it’s surrounding farms. It’s easy to appreciate a small town in farm country, and this video sure provides that perspective.
And the birds! We couldn’t have gotten luckier with the birds flying around. They practically dance across your screen.
Hope you enjoy and give it a thumbs up on Youtube.
Thanks,
